Corona update June 23
Dear guest,
Good news! Our shared plumbing is open again and as of July 1 you can again buy newspapers and bread in our store.
In order for us as a campground to remain compliant with RIVM guidelines and ensure the safety of our guests, we have a few important requests:
- Despite our shared bathroom facilities being open again, please use your own as much as possible. For example, wash your dishes at the tent and brush your teeth there as well.
- Stay 1.5 meters away.
- There may be a maximum of 2 people (excluding staff) in the reception area.
- Do you exhibit complaints/symptoms of corona? Then stay home.
Above all, we are extremely happy to welcome you back!
Kind regards,
Team De Helfterkamp
Corona update May 12, 2020
After the May 6 press conference, we took a break from our update. This is due to the fact that the North East Gelderland Safety Region (VNOG) also had to make a decision on this on May 11.
See below a paragraph from the emergency claim as of May 11, 2020:
- the sanitary buildings in the campsites will remain closed at least until July 1, 2020 after that we hope to be allowed to open, subject to any new measures. (Guests with caravan and camper with private sanitary facilities such as toilet, wash/shower facility are allowed to camp as usual).
- The existing policy remains in place, with the broadening that camping with tents and trailer tents is no longer prohibited in advance. The requirement is that people can be self-sufficient in toilet and washing and/or shower facilities.
(Addition from Camping the Helfterkamp: At the latter, the wash/shower water must be discharged into the sewer!)
- That no recreational activities may take place. As a result, the recreation program for Ascension and Pentecost will unfortunately be cancelled.
- We are still busy every day looking at options for opening our other facilities as soon as we know more about them we will let you know.
- The rules keeping distance of at least 1.5 meters remains in effect for everyone. Visitors are therefore not allowed in the campground until July 1, 2020.
If you have further questions you can reach us by phone Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tel: 0578-571 839. Or via email: info@helfterkamp.nl
With kind camping regards,

Corona update (May 1)
Dear Guest,
On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, the North East Gelderland Safety Region (VNOG) met again. The existing measures have been extended. They elaborated on the gray areas in the previous report. Unfortunatelyis brought out in this that tents and folding trailers are not currently allowed on the recreation grounds. Also, caravans and campers must have their own plumbing (i.e., sink toliet and shower). See below the paragraph from the VNOG report.
Article 2.5a. Sanitary facilities
If a camping facility is not self-sufficient by having its own toilet with its own washing and/or shower facilities, it is not permissible to still use the locations of vacation parks, campgrounds, camping sites, small-scale camping fields (e.g. so-called “camping at the farmer’s”), parks, natural areas, beaches and marinas. In practice, use of toilet buckets, so-called potti’s and detached chemical toilets has increased while there is no washing and/or shower facility. This creates unwanted unsanitary situations. . It is therefore forbidden to camp solely with a toilet facility without washing and/or showering facilities. As a result, camping with a tent – with the exception of so-called “glamping tents” – or folding trailer is not possible, and camping with a caravan or camper is possible.
We expect the VNOG to meet again in 3 weeks as a result of the press conference and hope that the measures will be adjusted then.
Kind regards,
Team De Helfterkamp
Corona update (April 21)
Dear Guest,
On April 21, the Cabinet decided that the measures taken will be extended until next May 20.
We as a campground have therefore decided that we will be completely closed through Tuesday, May 19, 2020. For now, our new opening date is Wednesday, May 20 starting at noon. Note: May 12, the Cabinet will hold another press conference to see what will happen with the measures. So date may still change.
We are currently receiving many inquiries regarding the Ascension and Pentecost package. We realize that it is enormously inconvenient for you as a guest that we do not come up with a clear answer. By order of the municipality, our sanitary facilities are off limits. It is still possible to empty the chemical toilet ( except on the Bekenkamp area here the dump is in the toilet building ). The animation team will not come during the Ascension and Pentecost weekends. Currently, we are busy behind the scenes discussing whether it would be wise to allow guests who are completely self-sufficient to attend the Half Camp. As soon as we have an answer to this we will notify our guests by email.
We also often receive questions about whether the summer vacation can continue; unfortunately we do not yet have an answer to this either. We obviously can’t wait to host you again but at the moment we are watching it from press conference to press conference.
Due to the circumstances, we have adjusted our reception accessibility. We can now be reached by phone Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 0578-571839.
On behalf of the whole team we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding, if there are any questions you can always email us.
Kind regards,
Team De Helfterkamp
Corona update (April 8)
Dear Guest,
On March 31, the Cabinet decided that the measures taken will be extended until next April 28 (May vacation). Given that this date falls in the middle of the vacation season, we as a campground have decided that we will be completely closed until Sunday, May 3, 2020. For now, our new opening date is Monday, May 4, starting at noon. Note that the week before April 28, the Cabinet will hold another press conference to see what will happen with the measures. So date may still change.
Due to the circumstances, we have adjusted our reception accessibility. We are now available by phone Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will be closed on Easter Monday (April 13).
Kind regards,
Team De Helfterkamp
Corona update (March 28)
Dear Guests,
March 26, the North and East security region took additional measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Their advice remains, “Stay home.”
Common toilet, laundry and shower facilities they have designated as prohibited locations. This is valid at least until April 6. Our restrooms, the Barn and laundry are already closed!
After extensive consultation, we have decided that our campground will remain closed for rental accommodations and tourist (short) camping until April 6.
Our regular guests, whose toilets are connected directly to the sewer, can use their mobile homes.
With the temporary closure, we hope to limit the flow of tourists and thus the spread of the virus.
Guests who have reservations within this period will be contacted personally.
If you still have questions, please contact us at info@helfterkamp.nl
Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. We wish you all good health and hope to see you again soon.
Team Helfterkamp
