Large, green pitches with view of play areas
A friendly, well-kept family campsite in the heart of the Veluwe National Park: That’s campsite De Helfterkamp. The campsite offers 160 spacious, well-maintained camping spaces, as well as several types of accommodation such as touring caravans, motorhomes and a holiday cottage. The fields (named after animals) and pitches are spacious and green. The pitches on the fields with play areas all look out over the play equipment, so you can always keep an eye on your kids.
Kids’ entertainment and play barn ‘de Schuure’
For the little ones, as well as slightly older children, we offer an entertainment programme, run by a professional kids’ entertainment service called De Eendenclub (The Duck Club). This takes place partly from our play barn ‘De Schuure’, the best place for fun activities, a game of table tennis or fussball. A TV, a sofa, a piano and a bookcase can also be found in the barn. One of the highlights of the year is our annual Helfterkamp Musical, created and performed by the entertainment team, and the kids and parents. An event to remember!
Petting zoo, play meadow, woodland, frog pond and stream
The kids can play outside all day without ever having to leave the campsite. Be it in the woodland or the meadow, on the discovery trail or paddling in the frog pond or stream. Top tip: Discover the springs and streams at the campsite. For the little ones we offer a discovery tour, and for adults a guided walk with a conservationist. Fairytale tour, ghost tour, wide games and more
There are many adventures to be had for little ones, older kids, adventurers and princesses. We offer many activities for children both indoors and outdoors, including wide games as well as our fairytale tours and ghost tours. Parents and grandparents are very welcome to join in as well!
In the area: wildlife watching, swimming pool, donkey park and more
You can see deer, foxes and other wildlife around De Helfterkamp in the Veluwe National Park. There are several wildlife watching tours available, also for kids. It’s possible to go swimming in the pool in Vaassen. There are many more activities or days out in the area. For more information, pop into our campsite shop. We’d love to help!
Royal Dutch Touring Club accredited campsite and Campsite of the Year award
De Helfterkamp is accredited by the Royal Dutch Touring Club and was named ‘The most beautiful green camping site’ of 2019 in Holland. An incredible honour, because it was based on visitor votes, and because sustainability and environment were important factors.
